Job Summary:

As a Creative Designer in our flexible packaging company, you will play a pivotal role in developing visually appealing and functional packaging designs that meet the unique requirements of our clients. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including sales, marketing, and production, to understand client needs, create innovative packaging concepts, and deliver design solutions that enhance the brand identity and product appeal. This role requires a deep understanding of packaging design principles, material limitations, and industry trends to ensure the successful execution of creative and practical packaging solutions.

Responsibilities:

Packaging Design: Develop creative and functional packaging designs for various products, considering factors such as

product safety, branding, shelf appeal, regulatory compliance, and manufacturing constraints.

Concept Development: Generate original packaging design concepts and ideas that align with client objectives, industry trends, and consumer preferences.

Client Collaboration: Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to understand client requirements, brand guidelines, and target market demographics, ensuring that packaging designs effectively communicate the desired brand message.

Structural Design: Create detailed packaging structures and prototypes using design software and tools, considering materials, dimensions, functionality, and cost-effectiveness.

Graphics and Branding: Incorporate brand logos, imagery, and relevant graphics into packaging designs, ensuring consistency with brand guidelines and enhancing brand recognition.

Material Selection: Recommend suitable materials for packaging designs, considering product requirements, sustainability goals, and cost-efficiency.

Technical Considerations: Collaborate with production and engineering teams to ensure the feasibility and manufacturability of packaging designs, addressing any technical challenges or limitations.

Artwork and Pre-Press: Prepare print-ready artwork files, ensuring accuracy, color consistency, and compliance with print specifications and production requirements.

Prototyping and Testing: Develop physical prototypes of packaging designs for evaluation and testing purposes, gathering feedback and making necessary design adjustments.

Market Research: Stay updated with industry trends, innovations, and emerging technologies in flexible packaging design, integrating new ideas and techniques into design concepts.

Project Management: Manage multiple design projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines, while effectively communicating progress and potential challenges to stakeholders.

Quality Control: Conduct thorough reviews and inspections of final packaging designs to ensure accuracy, functionality, and adherence to brand guidelines and client requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, packaging design, industrial design, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Proven experience as a creative designer, with a focus on packaging design, ideally in the flexible packaging industry.
  • Proficiency in design software and tools, such as Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) and 3D modeling software (e.g., ArtiosCAD).
  • Strong understanding of packaging design principles, materials, manufacturing processes, and print production.
  • Excellent knowledge of typography, color theory, and layout techniques as they apply to packaging design.
  • Ability to interpret client requirements and translate them into creative packaging solutions while considering technical and practical constraints.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and present design concepts to clients.
  • Detail-oriented with a keen eye for aesthetics, functionality, and quality.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, handle multiple projects simultaneously, and meet project timelines.
  • Knowledge of sustainability practices and packaging regulations is a plus.
